Stop 23 · Lake Placid
Toby the Clown Foundation Inc.
One of the only clown museums in the country, in Lake Placid's downtown mural district. Founded by Keith "Toby" Stokes in 1993 — Toby retired to Lake Placid, missed clowning, started with hospital balloon animals, and grew it into a full school and museum. 700+ pieces of clown memorabilia; clown classes run February, June, and November.
- What to order
- Walk the mural district after — Lake Placid has 40+ painted murals in a few blocks, and the museum sits right in the middle of them. Time it for the clown school windows (Feb / June / Nov) if you want to catch classes in session.
- Hours
- Limited museum hours — call (863) 465-2920 or check tobysclownfoundation.org. Clown school classes run February, June, and November.
