Ocean Grill
Built in 1941 by Waldo Sexton — the same Vero pioneer behind the Driftwood Inn and McKee Jungle Gardens — on a sand dune 200 yards from the Atlantic, and run by the Replogle family since 1965 into a third generation at the door. The interior is Sexton's signature magpie style: pecky cypress and mahogany rescued from Florida sawmills, wrought iron, stained glass, and Spanish antiques hung wherever there's a wall, with the ocean crashing straight below the dining room windows. The menu holds to the mid-century supper-club script — she-crab soup, prime rib, roast duck with orange sauce, jumbo lump crab cakes, Indian River pompano.
