Daytona International Speedway
The most storied stock-car track in America — opened 1959, home of the Daytona 500 every February since. Bill France Sr.'s answer to running the beach course, a 2.5-mile tri-oval with 31-degree banking that made stock cars into a national sport. Speedweeks in late January/early February kicks off the NASCAR season and includes the Rolex 24 endurance race. The Ticket & Tours Building is open daily 9a–5p and houses the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America, covering stock cars, sports cars, open-wheel, motorcycles, drag racing, land speed, powerboating and aviation. The 2.5-hour VIP Tour departs 1p Tuesday through Sunday and puts you on the banking.

- Grab the VIP Tour (1p, Tue–Sun) if you have the time; otherwise walk the Motorsports Hall of Fame — the motorcycle wing is worth the stop even on a non-race day.
