Coconuts

Food

Casual open-air seafood spot on the Intracoastal at the north end of Seabreeze, a block south of where A1A crosses the 17th Street Causeway bridge — a raw plank deck built at boat level with slips for guests who arrive by hull rather than by A1A. The menu is straightforward American with Caribbean and Southern accents: coconut shrimp, conch-and-shrimp fritters, mahi tacos, lobster rolls, blackened grouper sandwiches. Dogs on leash are welcome on the deck. The kitchen is faster than the room looks; the wait for a waterfront table on a Sunday afternoon is not.

What to order
Coconut shrimp or the conch-and-shrimp fritter basket to start, then a mahi taco plate; skip valet if you can find street parking on Seabreeze — the lot is $5 and often full. No reservations, first-come only.
